Drawing from the figure has always been essential to the development of
artists. This course will examine the basics of
drawing, using a range of techniques to explore form, structure and space.
Materials: charcoal, pencil and paper.
Children's
Painting & Pottery (6-11 year olds)

Children are invited to explore their creativity through clay and preparatory
painting. They will learn a variety of hand-building and finishing techniques
through individual and group work. There will be projects introduced but
the children's ideas are always welcome.
Basic
Drawing

This course will cover all aspects of drawing for the beginner. Working
from what we see and other times from what we imagine we will learn how
to use line and other medium in a expressive way. We
will try a bit of Abstraction, Impressionism, Expressionism and Surrealism
etc.
Afternoon
Printmaking and Etching
1:30-4:30pm Emiko Aida £185
This course will explore the techniques of etching, dry point, collograph
and monoprint. Whether the results are found by accident or design, the
medium of print has a natural capacity for spontaneity and surprise.
Portraiture
1:00-4:00pm Desmond Healy £195
The class will work from the portrait model, with two week poses,
using a variety of media. Students will be guided through the process
of building a structured figure in space with the use of tone, starting
with a limited palette.
Children's Painting and Drawing (6-11 year olds)

A wonderful way for children to express their creativity and have fun
learning to paint and draw with a professional artists.
