Morning

Mosaics
9:30am-12:30pm (Morning Class) Jackie Mwanza

In this course beginners will gain a basic understanding of mosaic processes, while the experienced student can continue to explore mosaics as a creative medium, experimenting with a variety of materials. There is a cost of £15.00, to be paid to the tutor to cover materials. Please bring a pair of tile nippers.

Watercolours: Landscape and Still Life
10am-1pm John Crossland

The course is based on the 'wet-into-wet' technique as well as dry washes. Students will be introduced to the medium's fascinating applications. The work of Turner, Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer will be studied and worked from.

General Painting and Drawing
10am-1pm
(Morning Class) Valerie Wiffin  £185
You will enjoy the stimulating atmosphere of a class where students using different materials, including mixed media and collage, are encouraged to work in a personal style by an experienced tutor who is able to instruct in all media. Subjects are always offered, or you can work from your own drawings or colour sketches.

Strictly Life Drawing
10am-1pm Trudie Stephenson

This course is vital both for beginners as well as experienced students looking for guidance on scale, tone, composition and perspective. The tutor has developed a range of structured exercises that tackle the problems artists encounter when they first attempt to make coherent life drawing. You will be coached on how to use a variety of media, including pencils and charcoal, inks and pastels.

 

Afternoon

Mosaics

Portraiture
2pm-5pm Tim Benson £205
This course will explore the landscape of the face, using oils. Students will be shown colour mixing techniques, whilst exploring a loose and dynamic approach to portraiture.

Fundamental Skills in Painting
2-5pm Nigel Caple

Develop skills in painting and drawing for both  figurative or non-figurative works. Classes will be structured around a variety of projects designed to develop your abilities and confidence with composition, design and colour. Medium: acrylics.


Evening

Open Painting Studio
6:30-9:30pm Nigel Caple

Both abstract and representational approaches will be encouraged to give students the opportunity to develop their own approach, as well as a diverse look at landscape, interiors and imaginative themes.

Jewellery Making and Design
6:30-9:30pm Drew Perridge
  £195*
Complete beginners can learn how to design and make their own jewellery. Basic techniques will be covered including saw piercing, filing, soldering, texturing, and the forming of metal. Brass and copper will be used initially, moving onto silver.

Portraiture and Life Painting
6:30-9:30pm Mary Treherne
  £205
This course will explore both life painting and portraiture. The class will begin with rapid drawings and proceed with longer poses before starting the paintings. Oils or acrylics can be used.


*Includes costs of basic materials, but not precious metals.
