Wednesday Morning

Life Drawing & Painting
9:30-12:30pm Tutor: Nigel Caple £123
Forming the basis to develop confidence in composition, both expressive and traditional, through drawing and painting.

Painting from Photographs
10-1pm Tutor: Jan Malaszek, £112
Using photographs, found images and digitally altered images, you will be guided to produce paintings using photographs as a starting point. Oils, acrylic or pastels.

Abstract & Open Painting (morning class)
10-1pm Tutor: Åke Arnerdal £112
Explore areas between figurative and abstract painting, from sketch to finished painting, using expressions of mood through colour, composition and line.

Portraiture & Life Sculpture (clay)
10:30-1:30pm Tutor: Paul Badger £128 (Inclusive of materials)
Demonstrating and introducing advanced techniques, including finishing and patination. Portrait and full figure nude poses, beginners also welcome.

Art History and Museum Visits (all levels welcome)
10-1.00pm Tutor: Estelle Lovatt, £105 – (Art Critic for BBC Radio 2)
Art criticism involves a specific way of looking at art and examining the characteristics of 'great' art; why are they considered important or a masterpiece?

 

Wednesday Afternoon

Experimental Sculpture
2-5pm Tutor: Paul Badger £112
Develop your ideas into abstract or figurative forms, or explore another process. Those wishing to continue their work from the morning class will be able to do so.

Painting Projects
2-5pm Tutor: Jan Malazek £112
This course will help you to develop your ideas into a 'series' of paintings. Working on your special interests through a structured approach to painting, using drawings, collage, and digital photography. We shall also look at the work of other artists.

Abstract & Open Painting (afternoon class) 2-5pm Tutor: Ake Arnerdal £112 Explore areas between figurative and abstract painting, from sketch to finished painting, using expressions of mood through colour, composition and line.

Portraiture & the Clothed Figure
2:30-5:30pm Tutor: Vincent Milne £123
Exploring the anatomical and pictorial possibilities and characteristics unique to the pose, produce an expressive image of their personality. Suggested medium – oils.


Beginner's Drawing from the life model
2-5pm Tutor: Clive Barger. £123
Within your own personal creative context, work through ideas in response to themed set ups, in a guided, supported way, using a variety of media.

 

Wednesday Evening

First Time Painting & Drawing
6:30-9:30pm Tutor: Derek Ogbourne, £112
Develop technical skills in painting and drawing by using a step by step approach to still life and landscape. Basic colour theory and colour mixing explored.

Portraiture & the Clothed Figure (evening class)
6.30-9:30pm Tutor: Vincent Milne, £123
Exploring the anatomical and pictorial possibilities and characteristics unique to the pose, produce an expressive image of their personality. Suggested medium – oils.
