Morning

Life Drawing and Painting
9:30am-12:30pm Nigel Caple

This course uses the human form as a starting point and encourages you to explore your pictorial response to it. You will have the opportunity to examine the diverse methods that are available and learn about their appropriate use.

Painting from Photographs in oils acrylic or pastels
10am-1pm Jan Malaszek

Using photographs, found images and digitally altered images, the class will be encouraged not to simply reproduce photographs but to produce painting using photographs as a starting point.  

Abstract and Open Painting
10am–1pm (Morning Class) Ake Arnerdal

This class will introduce you to the to the world of abstract painting. We will explore the areas between figurative and abstract painting. You will be able to see how artists develop their own imagery from sketch to finished painting.

Portraiture and Life Sculpture (clay)
10:30am-1:30pm Paul Badger

This course is designed for the beginners as well as the more experienced students. For the first part of the term we will work on a portrait head; the second half of the term we will work from a full figure, nude model.


Afternoon

Experimental Sculpture
2-5pm Paul Badger

The course is designed to develop your ideas into an abstract or figurative form, or explore another process. Those wishing to continue their work from the morning class (see above) will be able to do so.

Painting Projects
2pm-5pm
Jan Malazek  £180
Develop your ideas, special interests through a structured approach to painting by working with drawings, collage, and digital photography. We shall also look at the work of other artists. Recommended for diploma and pre-foundation students.

Abstract and Open Painting
2-5pm (Afternoon Class) Ake Arnerdal

This class will introduce you to the to the world of abstract painting. We will explore the areas between figurative and abstract painting. You will be able to see how artists develop their own imagery from sketch to finished painting with the expression of mood through colour, composition and line.

Portraiture and the Clothed Figure
2:30-5:30pm
(Afternoon Class) Vincent Milne  £195
Vincent will guide you in examining both the anatomical and pictorial possibilities of the pose and the characteristics that are unique to your model, enabling you to develop an expressive image of their personality.  Suggested medium: oils.   


Evening

First Time Painters
6:15-9:15pm Jan Malazek

This class is designed to develop basic technical skills in  painting and drawing, by using a step by step approach to various traditional subjects, still life and landscape. Basic colour theory and colour mixing will be shown.

Jewellery Making and Design
6:30-9:30pm Drew Perridge
  £190*
Complete beginners can learn how to design and make their own jewellery. Basic techniques will be covered including saw piercing, filing, soldering, texturing, and the forming of metal. Brass and copper will be used initially moving onto silver.
